Hey guys, for all you who use ESR, you will know by now that you cannot play CD games on it.
Well luckily, i learned how to be able to convert CD games to DVD games

and i thought it would be really beneficial for all of you people who'd like to play them.
I would like to remind you people, if you do not feel confident/comfortable in doing this, please make a request for a "DVD Conversion" of a specific game here:
http://projectblacktower.org/index.php?board=20.0Right, now on the tutorial!
Step 1. First of all, Download a game from here extract it etc untill you are left with the bin/iso etc.
OR if you are ripping your own game, Use IMGBURN and select create image file FROM disc, the slower you do it, the better.

(for further information on IMGBURN take a look at the toolbox sticky:
http://projectblacktower.org/index.php?topic=141.0 )
Step 2. Now, download CDmage
Link:
http://cdmage.orconhosting.net.nz/frames.htmlOpen CDmage up.

right go to "File" and select "open" locate you ISO file or .Bin file.
Right click track 1 and select "Data track properties" and take note of this info:

(you will need this for later on, so make sure you take a screenshot or type it into notepad)
Step 3. Select all files and right click, then select "Extract Files" to a new folder on your desktop (for mine, i put it in a folder called MDK2, because i was converting that game)
Step 4. Download DVD Scan Lite 3.7 from :
http://www.sksapps.com/index.php?page=mis.html (just look down the list and it'll be there)
open it and MAKE SURE you select DVD

right, now i would just go into the folder which you put all those files into (from that CDmage program) and Select ALL files.
if you see this screen just select No, do not select folders scan files only, than go inside any folder and repeat the procedure.

after this is done, you should see information like this:
Step 5 - Time to use/create the Dummy File!
A Dummy file is necessary for this conversion to work!
The image must be atleast 1.4 gigs for it to boot up with ESR, hence this is why we must create a dummy file.
I would recommend just using this dummy file which I created myself (took me a little while lol)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=126DXQSHjust remember to uncompress this file (you will get a folder and inside it a file, do not extract that file.)
Anyways, if you want to take it the hard way This is how to create a dummy file:
Go to "command prompt"
type:
fsutil file createnew c:\z.z 1073741824[/size]
(c:\ is your harddrive root folder) you may change this directory to where ever you'd like.
You probably noticed that 1073741824 is a huge number, that's how many BYTES are in a Gigabyte (aprox). (I would actually make it to around 1.4 which is 1503238553 )
Now, put this "dummy File" into the folder which contains your files from the CD you ripped!
Step 6 Right, time to make a CD image (prefferably ISO)
Remember IMGBURN? your gonna use that again, but this time, your gonna need to select "Create image from files/folders"

You'll get this screen now:

right, so... Select the folder which all the files are in.
Remember the information of that cd i asked you to note down or take a screen shot of? your gonna need it for this part as you can see. ^
So your gonna have to fill in the bits just like it has just been done there (you'll get the idea of it)
select an output folder, and then select build
Step 7 - now to patch the game, this is very easy as it doesn't require much
Please download The ESR disc patcher

you can get it from here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=C7FTWC8Cthis is very simple, just open up the patcher, select "patch" then locate your iso that you made, then select "open"
If successful, you should get the follow screen:

(ignore the background lol)
And Finally - It's time to burn that patched Iso!
open up IMGBURN, this time Select "Write image file to disc"
I would recommend you burn at 4x speed (that's the average speed people burn at and i recommend it personally)
once it is burned, it should work, pop it into your ps2, fire up ESR and load the game!
